Presentation and Sharing Ceremony
The First-in-the-Family Education Fund Presentation and Sharing Ceremony 2008-09 was held on November 20, 2008 at which the first recipients of the FIFE Fund shared their learning aspiration and thanked all supporters of the Fund.
Dr Albert Chau, Dean of Student Affairs introduces the First-in-the-Family Education Fund.
"We encourage them to embrace the intellectual challenges of higher learning and enable them to benefit from new learning opportunities outside the classroom, which are beyond their family affordability."

「我希望你們在這裡有機會讀書、成長、受最好的教育，也會飲水思源。」

「這個助學金的好處就是可以提供一些協助，讓一些有心的同學，可以增進自己的見識，提高自己的能力及素養，我覺得這個助學金很有意義。」

「進了大學以後，我覺得除了讀書，也該多參加不同的活動及交流團，；因為大學是一個供學生多元發展的地方。」
Sharing by Geoffrey Cheuk, a FIFE Fund recipient.
"The financial support from this educational fund allows me to participate in the extra- curricular activities which can equip me with essential qualities for my future career and give me a more diversified life experience."
Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui gives the final remark.
"When I attended university, I had to get grants and loans from the government and did a lot of part-time jobs. Therefore, since after I got my degree and started working, I have been trying to reciprocate to the community and society."
On behalf of the fund recipients, Ms Sylvia Choi expresses her heartfelt gratitude to all donors for supporting the First-in-the-Family Education Fund.
"We, as the recipients of the Fund, are highly thankful for all the donors’ support. I take pride in being a student of The University of Hong Kong. It is a place full of opportunities for students to grow and develop."
