FIFE Fund Summer Learning Activity With the support of Christian Action, a free field trip to visit the Nepalese and Islamic Communities at Yuen Long was organized successfully on 15 August, 2010. The activity was joined by 12 students, including 7 FIFErs. In addition to the visits to a Nepalese Church and the Islamic centre at Tin Yan Estate, Tin Shui Wai, participants also enjoyed an authentic lunch at an Indian restaurant in Yuen Long. .. more »

Accessibility Challenge of Equal Opportunities Festival 2010 Four FIFErs, Mr. Law Yu Hang (Faculty of Arts, Year 1), Mr. Hung Wai Hei (Faculty of Engineering, Year 1), Mr. Wong Yu Fu (Faculty of Science, Year 1) and Ms. Cheng Wan Yee (Faculty of Science Year 1) volunteered to be helpers and participant in the Accessibility Challenge of Equal Opportunities Festival 2010 organized jointly by the Equal Opportunity Unit and CEDARS on 3 and 5 March, 2010. - Results of Second-batch Application 2009/10 The second batch of application for FIFE Fund in 2009/10 was open from mid January to February 2010. 135 applications were received and 94 were approved. Since 2008/09, the Fund has granted a total of 529 first-generation university students at HKU to take part in different learning activities. FIFE Fund Presentation Ceremony and Experience Sharing 2009-10 At a presentation ceremony and experience sharing held in February 2010, alumni-cum-donors, Mr Wong Kai Man, Chairman of Azalea (1972) Endowment Fund and Mr Winston Chan, encouraged the fund recipients to make good use of the fund and enrich their learning experiences at HKU. Also present at the Ceremony were Dr Philip Wong, Mr Kwan Chuk Fai, Mr Kent Law, Mr David Wong, Chairman of FIFE Fund Steering Committee, and parents and friends of the FIFE Fund recipients.
