Presentation and Sharing Ceremony The First-in-the-Family Education Fund Presentation and Sharing Ceremony 2008-09 was held on November 20, 2008 at which the first recipients of the FIFE Fund shared their learning aspiration and thanked all supporters of the Fund. Class of 83 Fundraising Walkathon for the FIFE Fund To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its graduation, the HKU Class of 1983 organised a series of reunion and fundraising activities in 2008. To exemplify the act of "paying forward", the Class supported and raised fund for the FIFE Fund by organising a walkathon on September 21, 2008 which was also their first reunion activity. FIFE Fund was launched at HKU The University of Hong Kong (HKU) launched the "First-in-the-Family Education Fund" (FIFE Fund) and announced a generous donation of HK$1million per year for five years from Mr Yeung Kwok Keung, Chairman of Country Garden Holdings Ltd, at a press conference in April 2008. - Grand Gold Award in Fundraising Programmes The FIFE Fund has won an overall category grand gold medal and a gold medal in the Fundraising Programmes category of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Award from among 65 entries around the world. The FIFE Fund was on display in the CASE Salon at "Summit for Advancement Leaders"- held at the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco, from July 9 to 11, 2009.
