受惠同學的實踐

In order to adapt to today’s rapidly transforming business world, it is essential for business students to keep on learning and practicing in the business field. Hence, during the winter break of 2008, I joined the winter internship programme organised by the Hong Kong Human Resource Exchange Centre to Jiangsu Province, which gave me an opportunity to step in the business field and experience the real business world in China.

I was glad to be arranged to work in the Nanjing branch of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPD Bank) for approximately two weeks. SPD bank provided us with valuable opportunities to get in touch with both the front desk and back up work of a bank, which included check accounts, foreign exchange, customer services, financial planning and so on. Despite the fact that we got only limited time to get familiar with the transaction process of each task, we had a macro view of the successful operation of SPD bank.

In addition, we also treasured the chance to communicate with people at the managerial level of the bank. Their rich experiences and unique points of view on market trends gave us more ideas and even insight into the banking field in China. I would say that this internship programme helped me to become familiar with the working culture in China. More than that, it offered me the opportunity to explore my horizons and gave me a practical experience of working in the business field.
